I don't need much

Being able to say I don't need much frees one to live a simple life and remove the stress of keeping up with the joneses. I had this inspired thought when I was lying in a hammock in our backyard staring at the clear blue sky with some green leaves around. I thought I could live years just lying in a hammock and it doesn't matter what profession I have as long as my needs are met. Sometimes I am unclear about what I truly want in life, often when money is involved. But if one says I don't need much, it simplifies things.

Depression and the Law of Attraction

I find a conflict between my beliefs in the law of attraction and my experience in overcoming depression. According to the law of attraction, you have to think positive thoughts in order to attract positive experiences whereas in overcoming depression, I have experienced that thinking positively only can be toxic. When you are feeling down, it can be helpful to accept that you feel this way for sometime. Thinking positively at this point can be toxic, and I don't think it will attract negative experiences. It can be healthy to sit with your pain and accept it until it goes away. How do you reconcile the two? Recalibrate the mind

People change. At the start, we can be very happy, but we can turn out to be depressed. Things change when we form beliefs and ideas of ourselves and the world that are not helpful. So, we need to recalibrate the mind. We need to put our mind back to things that makes us happy. We need to form our beliefs back to things that are helpful. Here are some ways to recalibrate our mind:  1. Meditation 2. Yoga 3. Exercise 4. Doing the things we love 5. Sleep
